Summer 2007 volume 9

I never wanted to stop listening to volume 8 (see previous post). While packing for August vacation, I slapped this together, no longer worrying about not repeating an artist or using a song that’s already on the radio. This turns out to be wifey’s and Alina’s favorite (some people like things to be familiar). I was happy to have a place to put some Albert Hammond Jr., whose CD came to my attention right after I burned volume 8.

July 2005 volume 4

Great music was everywhere in summer ’05, with Sia on Six Feet Under and Jane’s Addiction on Entourage. Fall Out Boy had yet to become massive teen idols. The OK Go song was a particular fave; much better than their later big (video) smash, Here It Goes Again, which was to follow in 2006.

Back to School (2004)

Volume 2; a little harder to please this time, I started to troll the web for songs that weren’t being played on the radio. Some were, but were so cool I had to include them (Killers, Von Bondies), U2 hadn’t been released yet but was obviously going to be huge; too huge, in fact. I regret including it. No regrets about this one though, by Head Automatica, still a fave of G’s:
